June 2020 has been filled with great KPop releases, and Hwasa's comeback is no exception. Hwasa released her first solo mini-album, with the Title Track being 'María'. So, did I enjoy this song? Let's find out.

Okay, now without further ado, let's get started.
The Song
Just a note: María is Hwasa's Baptismal name, she has it tattooed on the back of her neck.
Okay, so what did I think of this song? Well, I think it's probably my favourite song from Hwasa, even considering that she only has two title tracks. But seriously, I love this song, it's been on repeat for ages. The melody of the song that plays at the beginning seriously got stuck in my head. One part of the song that caught me off guard, however, was the dance break. At first, I thought the change of tempo was a bit weird, but I've grown to love it. Also, something that makes this song even better is the lyrics, and although I don't usually talk about lyrics on my blog, I had to include them. The reason being that they're so meaningful and I assume that they mean so much to Hwasa herself.
So, what are the lyrics talking about? Well, simply, the lyrics are addressing the comments and negativity from haters, and basically, Hwasa is telling herself 'María' to stay strong, and that's she's already beautiful, etc. And honestly, when I first read the lyrics, I was almost tearing up.
So, overall, I love this song, I love the lyrics, I just love it. As per usual, Hwasa never disappoints.
The Choreography
Next up, the choreography. So, what are my thoughts? Well, in my opinion, this is a powerful choreography. However, you may be wondering why I think this because I've previously said that I prefer more complex choreographies. Well, it's simply because of Hwasa's stage presence. Despite Hwasa's back being injured, she still managed to perform her choreography.
Another reason why I love this choreography is simply that it suits Hwasa so well. It's chic, it's stylish, it's sensual, but at the same time, it's so powerful and strong. — I'm not sure if I used any of these adjectives correctly, but you get the idea.
Overall, This choreography is made for Hwasa and I love it.
The Music Video
Now for the music video. The music video is quite simple, and it focuses on the choreography, one of my favourite scenes is when the rest of Mamamoo comes to Hwasa at the end, I think that scene is just so sweet. There are also a few meaningful scenes. For example, the scene at the beginning which is what looks like Hwasa's funeral. What I got from this scene is that after Hwasa got hated on so much, she 'died' and after her funeral, she became reborn as María, who's stronger, and doesn't care about the hate. This may be completely wrong, but that's what I got from this scene. Tell me what you guys think about it in the comments.
I'm not going to analyse every scene, because that's clearly not my strong suit. However, my overall opinion on this music video is that although it may be simple, it is very meaningful.
Overall Rating
So, what is my overall rating for this song? Well keeping everything in mind, I'll give this song an 8-9 out of ten. This may seem biased, but let's be honest, Hwasa never disappoints. But, feel free to tell me what you guys think in the comments.
So, that brings me to the end of my review. I hope you enjoyed it. And with that being said,
Stay Safe,
Ciao xx
