End of Month Overview - July 2020
Monthly Overview Collage |
Hello, everyone! Welcome back to my blog.
Just like last month, I'm going to be doing an overview of the songs I've reviewed, and checking to see whether I still like them or not, so if that sounds good, let's get into it.
However, if you're new here, make sure to either subscribe to my blog by email or sign up for notifications so that whenever I put out a new blog post, you'll be notified Okay, now let's get started.
1. BLACKPINK'S HOW YOU LIKE THAT
So, first things first, the first song I reviewed this month, How You Like That by Blackpink.
When I first made my review of this song, I mentioned how I really did like the song, despite what others think of it, and that despite the choreography not being my favourite, I did like it.
To be honest, my opinion on this comeback hasn't really changed, I still do like the song, and the choreography, although I'm still not a huge fan of the dance break section.
Also, when I wrote my review, I talked about how I couldn't choose who owned this song, but I think I've come to a decision, and I think that Rosé owned this song. However, if you disagree, make sure to visit my review of that song, and vote for who you think owned this song.

So, overall, my opinion on this comeback hasn't changed a whole lot, and I still stand by what I said before.
2. HWASA'S MARÍA
Hwasa - María |
So, to be honest, there really isn't a lot to say about this comeback. In my review, I talked about how Maria is probably my favourite title track from Hwasa, and I still agree. I really like this song and the choreography, and the lyrics were very meaningful as well.
Also, despite Hwasa only promoting for a short amount of time, Hwasa managed to get her first win and I'm very happy for her.
So, overall, this song is still a great song for me, and to this day I still enjoy it.

3. CHUNGHA'S PLAY
Chungha - Play Concept |
Next up is Play by Chungha.
So, let's be honest. When I wrote my review for this song I expressed how much I loved this song. And honestly, I don't think anything has changed. I loved the song, I loved the choreography (a lot) and I really liked the music video.
Right now, I still love the song and the choreography and the music video.
So yeah, this is probably one of my favourite songs from this month, and I still stand by what I said in my review.

4. IRENE & SEULGI'S MONSTER
Now for the only debut that I reviewed this month, the debut of Irene & Seulgi's subunit, with the song, Monster.
So, in my review of this song, I mentioned how I actually really like this song and I like the side the dark side that Irene and Seulgi showed us. However, some people mentioned how they would prefer it if Naughty was the title track for their debut album, but I honestly prefer Monster. I think I liked the song Monster rather than naughty. However, I do prefer the naughty choreography, but the choreography for monster has grown on me a bit.
Also, in my review, I said that I thought the Irene owned this song, and I still stand by that, I believe that Irene really showed us that she isn't only a visual.
So, overall, I do like the song Monster, I agree with what I said in my review, and I hope to see more from this subunit.

5. ALEXA'S VILLAIN
AleXa - Villain |
Now for AleXa's Villain.
Okay, so in my review of this song, I said that I did mainly like this song, but the rap kinda threw me off, but the rap part has grown on me now. So, yeah, I do like this song.
One thing that I mentioned was how I couldn't really properly judge the choreography because there wasn't a fancam, but, now there is, so I can finally talk about the choreography properly.
So, what did I think of the choreography? Well, I'm surprised about how much I actually like it. This choreography is definitely not a style that I've done before.
It's very powerful, strong and sharp and it honestly just fits AleXa perfectly. I honestly think that I underestimated AleXa's dance skills because now that I've seen the dance practice, it's almost hard to believe that AleXa hasn't been in the industry for so long.
It's unbelievable how much power someone can hold in a 4"11 tall body.
So, overall, I do really like this song and I like the choreography way more than I thought I would.

6. SOMI'S WHAT YOU WAITING FOR
Somi - What You Waiting For Concept |
Now for one of my more recent reviews, Somi's What You Waiting For.
In my review for this song I said that I really liked this song, and despite Teddy being the producer, I didn't think that this song was too similar to other songs that Teddy has produced.
One thing that I said that I didn't love was the choreography. The choreography is very simple, and it seemed like a lot of people pointed that out, but in my review, I dismissed it and said it was okay because Somi got to focus on her vocals.
Right now, however, I still do enjoy this song, but the choreography still doesn't do it for me. I am still hoping to see something a bit more complex in the future, but all you can do is hope.
However, it's good that we got to hear Somi's live vocals in her performances, so I'm grateful for that.
So, overall, I do like this song, but the choreography isn't the best.

7. HYOYEON'S DESSERT
Now for the final song I reviewed this month, Hyoyeon's dessert.
To be honest, I wasn't sure if I should get into this song, since my review for it came out pretty recently. However, I will just say I few things anyway.
So, in my review, I said how I really like the song and how I couldn't really judge the choreography, since there isn't any dance practice or fancam for the full song yet.
I still stand by what I said, I do really like the song, but I'm still waiting for the dance practice for this song. Let's be real, I don't think my opinion would change that much in a few days.
So yeah, I still really enjoy this song, and I hope I'll be able to give a proper review on the choreography soon.
